Artist: The WombatsRelease Date: December 16, 2008
Description: Click to expandA Guide to Love, Loss & Desperation is an astoundingly accomplished and irresistibly catchy debut that deals in despair of the most danceable kind. Songs like "Kill The Director" and "Let's Dance To Joy Division" detonate where the brash impulse of youth and self-deprecating melancholy collide. Laced with three part harmonies and dizzying choruses chronicling tongue in cheek disasters that still manage to seem exuberant and carefree, The WOMBATS have created a collection of thirteen astounding tracks.
The Special Edition Features five extra tracks including Is This Christmas just in time for the holidays!

Roadrunner United The Concert
Artist: ROADRUNNER UNITED THE CONCERTRelease Date: December 9, 2008
Description: Click to expandIn its first 25 years, Roadrunner Records has been the label through which fans could find the best music in the hard rock and heavy metal genres. From seminal early releases by artists such as King Diamond, Deicide and Obituary to the mainstream success of bands like Type O Negative, Fear Factory and Machine Head, to the current crop of bands which includes such metal innovators as Slipknot, Killswitch Engage, Opeth and Trivium, Roadrunner has always stayed ahead of the curve- setting trends instead of following them.
Roadrunner United is a celebration of the ever-evolving face of metal and of the lasting impression one label and its artists have made on it.
On one legendary evening metal's finest gathered at the Nokia Theater in New York City in an all out aural assault. This is that show. Enjoy.
Dark Horse
Artist: NickelbackRelease Date: November 18, 2008
Description: Click to expandDark Horse's songs -- recorded during the summer at Chad Kroeger's converted barn studio in Vancouver -- traverse a wide terrain, from the arcing melodic ebb and flow of the first single, "Gotta Be Somebody" and the metallic groove of "Burn It To The Ground" to the heavy riffery of "Something In Your Mouth" and "The Next Go Round" and the inspiring balladry of "You'll Never Be Alone" and "I'd Come For You." "We're a rock band," Peake says. "We like to get heavy and we do like to write stuff that's melodic and maybe a little more mellow. It's nice to have both, and it's nice to have both accepted by the fans. There are some bands that can only put out one kind of thing, but our fans are pretty open so we don't get stuck in one place."
Roots [RR 25th Anniversary Reissue]
Artist: SepulturaRelease Date: June 7, 2005
Description: Click to expandIt is easy to forget just what impact this 1996 collosus of an album had on mainstream consciousness....it landed like an atom bomb, slammed the top of the charts, and created a completely new set of rules for modern metal making. If you've ever wondered why the words 'tribal' and 'Sepultura' go together in most bio descriptions, this album provides all the answers - Jon
Bloody Kisses
Artist: Type O NegativeRelease Date: August 17, 1993
Description: Click to expandThis album refuses to get old. Even 13 years or so since it was released, songs like 'Christian Woman' and 'Black #1' continue to deliver. The potency of Steele's voiced coupled with scorching lyrical couplets like, "Would you suffer eternally, or internally", makes this album essential listening for any wannabe goth metalhead - Jon
Karma To Burn
Artist: Karma To BurnRelease Date: February 25, 1997
Description: Click to expandDefinitely one from the vault, but for those people who know about Roadrunner's foray in the mid nineties into stoner rock and metal, this baby is the jewel in the crown. Karma To Burn, singer or no singer, created a Kyuss-inspired, elephant-in-the-room slab of proto-stoner-metal that still has a mystery and unique flavour to it. - Jon
Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Silence
Artist: GlassjawRelease Date: May 9, 2000
Description: Click to expandNaked and truthful. Pure and brutally direct. Glassjaw work stray chords, a Radiohead-ish swirl of guitar and a barrage of bared emotions into a frenzy that's singular and uncompromising. Glassjaw's IAM/Roadrunner debut, Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Silence is as riveting and personal a record as you could ask for. One where beauty turns to disgust where melodies turn molten.
Primitive
Artist: SoulflyRelease Date: September 26, 2000
Description: Click to expandNOTE - THE PRIMITIVE DIGIPAK IS NO LONGER BEING SHIPPED - GET EM WHILE STORES STILL GOT EM!! Max gets back to basics and back to the PRIMITIVE! On his follow-up to 1998's self-titled release, frontman Max Cavalera returns with a vengeance, twelve tracks of brutal beauty, and a bunch of friends to assault your senses and blow your mind! Soulfly's Primitive, is Max at his best. Featuring track after track of jarring, in-your-face musical mayhem. With buddies Chino Moreno(Deftones), Tom Araya(Slayer), Corey 8(Slipknot) and the unlikely pairing with Sean Lennon, you would think that Max couldn't handle the load on his own, but you couldn't be further from the truth. Primitive is musical collaboration at its best keeping true to the foundation that is Soulfly. This is a band and an album that explores heavy sound to the outer limits and ultimately takes it back to the basics and back to the Primitive!
Downer
Artist: DownerRelease Date: April 24, 2001
Description: Click to expandTrue to its name, Downer isn't exactly an easy or exceedingly pleasant trip. From the energetic pound of the first single "Last Time" to the anthemic "Speed Teeth" to the angry grind of "Bi-Furious", Downer takes you on a sonic trip to the edge. With influences ranging from U2 to Jane's Addiction to Fugazi, Downer walk the fine line between the limiting label of 'metal' and the seemingly limitless label of 'alternative'. While 'alternative' may beg the question "Alternative to what?", Downer answers that question loudly and clearly - alternative to the boy band, hip-hopper wannabees dominating the airwaves today. Downer are a rock band, plain and simple no guest DJ's, MC's or other flavor of the month adornments.
Alive Or Just Breathing
Artist: Killswitch EngageRelease Date: May 21, 2002
Description: Click to expand"If you took a molten metal, 80 -foot-tall King Cobra and made it fight against Godzilla in a 'Battle Royale'-style death cage match from hell, the outcome would be pretty much how we sound. It's scary at times, and crushing at others." Mike D'Antonio, bass, Killswitch Engage
"Killswitch Engage staple technical riffs to ugly, bruising hardcore. Nu-metal? Not here, pal." Kerrang! January 2002
The return of the riff. The return of heavy metal. Coming soon...
All Hope Is Gone
Artist: SlipknotRelease Date: August 26, 2008
Description: Click to expandAll Hope is Gone, the fourth release from this hard rock machine from Des Moines, IA, is more of a statement than a record. Corey Taylor comments, "Every album we have made is a statement about that space in time. I think this era is the most mature, most beautiful and the most powerful. We have made an album that will show the road behind, the road ahead, and where we are as men. I think it's the best thing I've ever made. And I challenge anyone to prove me wrong." The album promises to blend elements of 2004's Vol 3: (The Subliminal Verses) and 2001's Iowa, while adding a perspective, freshness and depth that only three years apart can bring. All Hope Is Gone was recorded this spring in Slipknot's home state and is co-produced by the band and Dave Fortman.

Cosmic Universal Fashion
Artist: Sammy HagarRelease Date: November 18, 2008
Description: Click to expandCosmic Universal Fashion marks the first official release for Loud & Proud, a Roadrunner Records imprint focusing on established artists. The title track and first single, "Cosmic Universal Fashion," was written as an online collaboration between Hagar and a young Iraqi rock and roller by the name of Steven Lost.
