15 QUESTIONS WITH DRAGONFORCE'S FRENCH ASSASSIN - 8.28.2008
The Rockstar Mayhem FestivalYouTube channel posted an interview with our favourite frenchy, Dragonforce's Frederic Leclercq. Watch Fred answer 15 questions about some very random things such as what makes him cry (hahah, E.T.) and what Spice girl he would be.
When Rhapsody caught up with Slipknot percussionist Chris Fehn (#3) at the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival, things were looking up for the infamous metal collective. After nearly three years away, the nine masked members -- Sid Wilson (turnables), Joey Jordison (drums), Paul Gray (bass), Fehn (percussion), Jim Root (guitars), Craig "133" Jones (samples/media), Shawn "Clown" Crahan (percussion), Mick Thomson (guitars) and Corey Taylor (vocals) -- were back out on the touring circuit with two singles dominating the airwaves and a new album in the pipeline. "You always wonder if you're going to be able to keep up, but we're a touring band," explains Fehn. "When we're on the road is when we're the best."

DRAGONFORCE IS HEADLINING THIS FALL FOR THE FIRST TOUR IN SUPPORT OF THE NEW ALBUM, ULTRA BEATDOWN!
Fresh off their massively successful stint on the main stage of this summer's inaugural Rockstar Energy Mayhem Fest, DragonForce aren't content to take a break. The band will hit the U.S. for a six-week headline tour that hits major markets, supporting their new album, Ultra Beatdown, which lands on retail shelves on August 26. DragonForce are a touring machine, but their last headline tour occured two years ago in September 2006. It was a sold-out spectacle that cemented the band's reputation as a live powerhouse, so it's time for the band to once again topline a bill! Turisas will serve as main support for the tour, which kicks off on November 1 and runs through December 19.
DragonForce have absolutely erupted since the release of 2006's Inhuman Rampage, which has sold over 300,000 copies and counting. They've captured the hearts and hands of Guitar Hero 3 fans with their masterful guitar wizardry and have graced the January 2008 cover of Revolver as well as the covers of Guitar World and Decibel. The accolades on Ultra Beatdown keep pouring in, with Alternative Press lauding the band as "poised to enter the relatively underoccupied pantheon of British metal."
DragonForce are an international "force" of nature, fusing virtuoso levels of guitar work with a fun-filled live aesthetic. Tour dates are as follows, with the pre-sale beginning today at 3 PM local time. Pre-sale tickets, along with newly launched fan club packages, will be available at https://tixx1.artistarena.com/dragonforce/. Fans can go to www.dragonforce.com for more ticket information, as well.

GC aka Ground Control Magazine reviewed our New Jersey rockstars, The Parlor Mob as well as talking to the singer, Mark Melicia, about this and that.
"Formed in 2004, The Parlor Mob started out as a very different creature from the hard rocking entity they are today. Initially called What About Frank?, guitarists David Rosen and Paul Ritchie, bassist Nick Villapiano, drummer Sam Bey and singer Melicia drew notice as a progressive rock-influenced band that also won some punk rock hearts on the Warped Tour in 2005. In 2006, the band changed its name to The Parlor Mob (a name the band felt was more in keeping with what they were doing musically) and signed to Capitol Records where they recorded a four-song EP. Unfortunately, the label was experiencing difficulty and the EP was never released and soon - when Capitol and Virgin records merged - the group found themselves lost in the shuffle and without a label. At that point Roadrunner Records stepped in and saved the day. Now gearing up for a tour across Canada, The Parlor Mob is poised to remind a record buying public that, while it might have bee n a long time since they rock n' rolled, there are still some bands that remember how."
